09/05/2019 - Meet Bali! She is about 4 years old and she has sparkly blue eyes and an unusual fur color. It's mostly a diluted white pattern, like she's a sun-washed beach girl, perhaps from the shores of Bali? Such a sweetie pie, she's recovering from an illness at our shelter yet is almost ready to meet the world and find a home of her own. Meet Esme! Esme is a slightly diluted torbie (calico/tabby) with a beautiful and exotic look to her. She's very sweet and quite, a bit shy but once she knows someone she is sweet and friendly. Meet Winkie! Winkie arrived to us when she was just a kitten along with her siblings. She was very shy and fearful of humans which she's mostly grown out of as now she's approachable and loves to be petted. While growing up, she had an issue with her right eye: ingrown eyelashes. She got surgery but you can see, it really clipped her eyelid and left her deformed. Now no one wants her and she always gets passed up for adoption! Take a closer look at Winkie please! Meet Poka! Poka is a big, beautiful tabby who is about 4 years old. She's one of the few kitties who we know a birthday. She had a human at one time but is now homeless and it's been difficult for her to accept and adjust to shelter life. Meet Titan! Titan is a really big cat, he's probably around 6-8 years old too. He was found at an apartment complex with a severe case of mange and skinny as a rail. It took months to get him to heal. Then he got a gum disease which lead to the removal of all his teeth. He's finally feeling pain free now and after all he's been through, it would be nice to get him a home of his own. Titan likes affection and loves to be pet but can get tired of it quickly, he's not used to having so much love and food around! We need a very special human to help Titan. He needs a home full of love and the space he needs to just be a cat. Meet Misfoo! Misfoo is one of 5 cats who came to us after his owner passed away. It's been several months now and we'd really love to get him into a home of his own. He's super outgoing and friendly, unlike his brother Felix, and Misfoo loves attention and to be at the center of any party. Meet Brandy! Brandy is the most affectionate cat we have!!! It's non-stop love, she simply has to sit in your lap from the moment she sees you. She loves being petted so if you're looking for a cat who just can't be away from her human, this is the one for you! Brandy did test positive for FIV but she's been super healthy for the past 5 years or so that she's been with us waiting for a forever home. She's also a big kitty, weighing in at about 15 pounds. She loves to eat and she loves to lap. Yes, you can see from her pictures she has a lot of eye goop going on. We can't keep up, she produces a lot of eye goops. Brandy needs someone she can lap with for hours and hours every day, who will feed her and help clear her eye goop. It's a tall order but we're hopeful! Meet Hudson! He is a gorgeous 2 year old ginger and is super friendly and sweet. However, as you can see, he is starting to look sadder each day because he’s been at the rescue since he was a kitten. He was found outside and we’ve had him ever since he was rescued. He is perfectly healthy but sometimes shy which is probably why he’s been overlooked for so long. Meet Ivan! Ivan is all gray and is a older cat at about 8-9 years old. Ivan is gentle and slow moving with regal features around the face. He's a quiet and calm kitty who enjoys being petted and eating moist kitty food; it's yummier than dry. If given a choice, we think he'd probably like to be around slow moving adults instead of fast moving children. Ivan also gets along with all the other cats we have so he's just an all around friendly soul in search of a home. Meet Goji! Goji is an all black cat with beautiful owl like golden eyes. He's about 5 months old and he's been with us since he was a kitten. He's also missing part of his tail, we're not sure if that's part of his genetic breed or if it's a birth defect, but he's a cutie all the same! Meet Spooky Delukey! She was found in the street by a cemetery as a kitten and was in a nice home until she was about 9 years old when her owner passed away. She and another cat came to our shelter and after a few weeks, her roomie also passed away. It's been a very stressful and sad turn of events for Spooky. Spooky is said to get along well with dogs and kids, but she's not been very approachable since she has arrived at our shelter. She's going to need someone who can work with her by giving her some space to just be a cat again. She doesn't trust too many people right now and she's an independent soul, mostly lounging alone on the floor or near a window. Meet Susie! Susie is a sweet diluted calico at about 8 years old. She had a home and she got along well with the other kitty there, yet the other kitty didn't like her. Meet Felix! Felix is one of 5 cats who came to us after his owner passed away. It's been several months now and we'd really love to get him into a home of his own. Felix doesn't show well because he is very shy around strangers. Our volunteers who work with him say once he's familiar with you, he's very affectionate. Felix arrived with an ear infection but he's all better now. He's also front declawed which is something we don't condone but he came to us that way. His sibling Misfoo helps him feel at home and could help him overcome his shyness, so if we can get these two adopted together, that would be great! Meet Bootsie! Bootsie is a Singapura mix. She's an adult female who likes to perch in high places to watch all the activity at the shelter. She is meticulously clean and likes to be gently petted. Meet Becka! Becka is a female tabby/calico mix who got rescued from a tough situation. Considering what she's been through, she's quite affectionate and happy now! Samuel is a tabby/white cat who is about 5 years old and is front declawed. He was abandoned in a colony in Deerfield Beach but he is not feral, he's a little shy and quiet but very, very sweet. He gets along with all the other cats and doesn't make much of a fuss about his accommodations, he's a mellow go-with-the-flow kinda kitty. Meet Opie! Opie won an award for best in show! Opie & Winkie are two black & white tuxedo kitties who are sweet and loving. One of their human companions passed away and now their 86 year old mom just can not take care of them anymore. It's a lot of trauma at only 5 years old, yet it would be wonderful to get them both adopted together to another loving family. Meet Damion (aka Rick)! It's all fun and games until someone pokes an eye out… well, that happened to Rick. He was playing with his brother and scratched his eye. It's healing, he's fine and he has no special needs other than he insists on being called Rick, we're not sure why. Rick has long, sculpted features and is super shy around people at first. He loves catching mice, is very affectionate and enjoys petting or back rubs. Please share Rick in hopes that someone will offer him a home!

Got Dragons? Meet Queenie! Queenie was given up by her owner about 4 years ago, about the same time Queen Behenu's tomb was discovered in Egypt, which is where she got her name. She's been with us for a long time and is about 5 years old. With her soft jet black fur and beautiful gold eyes, she reminds us of the dragon in the movie "How to Train Your Dragon" because she has a lot of the same mannerisms that Toothless has. She's mysterious at first, then curious, watchful and surprisingly sweet and playful; a true lap cat who loves to be pet! You can see Queenie at PetSmart in Fort Lauderdale today and although we're not complaining about her companionship with us, she's been in the shelter too long. Meet Chanel! Nothing says class, sophistication, and refined taste than this little kitty. Chanel was given to us about 3 weeks ago and she is incredibly playful and social! She would probably do best in a home with at least one other cat companion. Chanel is current on her vaccinations and has been spayed, all she needs is you! Meet Captain Blake! The Captain is the lovable, silent type who likes to sit up high on a perch to watch all the swabbies muck about. Meet Onyx! Onyx has lived his whole life at the shelter yet has the most positive outlook on life! He has an engaging and outgoing personality yet he gets along with everyone. He's pretty casual. Peekaboo is a black and brown tabby with a thin tiger stripe pattern. She has whisps of black fur on her ear tips giving her an exotic Egyptian or lynx look. Her fur is silky soft and she's very affectionate, when held she prefers to lay on the shoulder. She enjoys playing, being petted and snacks.

Meet Vindaloo! He is a neutered male tuxedo cat who is almost 8 years old now. We don't know why he's still with us, he's incredibly sweet and social; we've enjoyed his company immensely!
