Hope for Hercules!

Meet Hercules!

In June of 2021, we posted about Hercules on our Facebook page:

This sweet kitty was in pain and needed entropion eye surgery on both his eyes. We added a fundraiser campaign to the post to help cover the expense of his surgery.

Entropion is a genetic condition in which a portion of the eyelid is inverted or folded inward against the eyeball. This results in irritation and scratches to the cornea — the front surface of the eye — leading to corneal ulceration, or corneal perforation. It can also leave dark-colored scar tissue to build up over the wound (pigmentary keratitis). These factors may cause a loss or decrease in vision.

We couldn’t wait, so Hercules got his surgery and by July, he had recovered well enough to finally announce to the world he was ready for his forever home!

Sweet Hercules had a rough start to his life. Found trying to survive on the streets with a painful eye condition, his eyes are now surgically repaired & require no follow-up or medications. He’s such a sweet boy! He’s around 2 yrs old, vetted and ready for a home. He loves attention & would love a home of his own.

Then in August, something magical happened! Hercules got adopted!

Now his name is Yams because he is such a sweet potato. Congratulations Yams, we wish you and your new family happiness and joy!
